falling for fall

Being a hudge fashion lover there are always collections I'm waiting for all of the year. It's not haute couture (because I know that i rather won't be invited to Met Gala this year so I have nowhere to wear it...), it's not the resort (because I don't usually go to Saint Tropez to hang around with my Chanel Hula Hoop bag) and it's not the spring/summer (I keep Blair Waldorf's quote in my heart and mind- 'sandals are not the shoes'). My absolutely favourite one is fall/winter. I love furs, leather shoes, dark nails and hats. You can wear one pair of shorts all the summer because you're tanned and good looking anyways. But I don't know anyone who would spend all winter in one pullover. ANYONE. Among short, cold and grey fall days fashion is like a sunbeam. Because what makes you fell as good as a sun when it's raining?
All around the world it's clear that this fall/winter season is all about contrast. Ambiguity between past and present, strenght and fragility, masculine and feminine, opulence and grunge... Let's check the biggest runway trends (I chose only a few that interested me the most)

  • Exotic furs

Roberto Cavalli/Fendi/Versace

I love furs, I love animal prints, I love brave stylling and I don't care when people say that I look like yeti, so what else can I say... Perfect coats for December's night out !

  •   Tartan

Stella McCartney/Celine/Saint Laurent

I don't know the person who doesn't have a tartan shirt (even my grandpa does!). I love the grunge version of tartan like Saint Laurent's girly dress with massive biker boots.

  • Leathery heights

Balmain/Chanel/Emilio Pucci

One of my dreamed-of kind of shoes is coming back almost every fall season! Unfortunately my legs ain't getting longer or more graceful so this year once again I can't wear them. But watching tall, skinny models wearing high boots looking almost like trousers is my little fetish.

  • Youthful prints

Saint Laurent/Burberry Prorsum/Givenchy

I always associate playful prints with Topshop and Agyness Deyn. But more and more designers started to using girly hearts, frivolous stars and cartoon characters. Mixed with fur or transparency and patent leather they are making an original combination, not for ordinary girls!

  • Belle de Jour

Marc Jacobs/Burberry Prorsum/Prada

The look brings to mind Catherine Deneuve's character in the Beauty of the Day. Marc Jacobs has fabulously presented to us furs on bare skin, sheer, lingerie details and vinyl trench coats in his own brand collection and in Louis Vuitton's as well. If I was a French lady I would wear transparent lace with just a trench coat on it...

  • Mohair

Alexander Wang/Balmain/Emporio Armani

Forget about woollen pullovers because this season the mohair ones are on!

  • Powder pink coats

Christian Dior/Miu Miu/Carven

We associate powder pink with girly cuts and floral prints but it's all about contrast this season - Carven's match of pink coat, leather skirt and zebra bag is just perfect !

  • Camouflage

Michael Kors/Alexander Wang/Christoper Kane

When I first saw Michael Kors's fall/winter collection for this season it left me speechless. If I had money I would buy every single piece of it! But if you can't afford for those clothes it's worth to check the newest Solar collection. There are a few of hot camo pieces too.

  • Grunge

Emilio Pucci/Rodarte/Saint Laurent

I think my favourite trend of the season. Promoted mostly by Inditex's shops and Topshop. Immortal leather jackets and tartan shirts, ripped jeans, chains and dark lips. Looking roughly like you don't care if you're fashion.
